... is a conceptual album containing 14 songs or "portraits" of the various
faces of mental illness.
The music reflects both character portraits of the patient population and their cultural
diversity -- as seen through the eyes of a hospital employee.
The characters are real, being either individual or composite portraits.
"Songs from the Island" is a complete work. The album is best understood
when heard in its entirety. One listen and you will be changed forever.
Listen again, and you will want to help change others. |
