This product was developed after 20 years of
experience, formulating and reformulating a topical anti-inflammatory ointment which could
relieve skin irritations quickly.
My wife and children have very sensitive skin and have had both contact allergies and
allergies which inflamed their skin causing rashes, chafing, eczema, extreme dryness and
itching. Whether the cause was environmental or genetic, I was determined to develop
a product which could relieve these symptoms.
Two of my sons had asthma as young boys and would break-out into hives and scratch all
night long. Internal anti-histamines helped, but some of the side-effects caused
other problems. They needed something to cool down the inflamed skin quickly.
My wife's hands were always raw from soaps and detergents, and even jewelry irritated her
skin. Her elbows were often chapped with roughened (skin) tissue, and in the winter
her fingernails would crack from dryness.
Our younger sons had contact dermatitis and were constantly going to the dermatologist and
allergist. In each instance they needed some immediate relief and could not wait for
internal medications to reach high enough blood levels.

Cut-a-way diagram of skin
As a Pharmacist, I dispensed a wide variety of internal and topically applied medications
which had varying degrees of success. I was constantly working on formulating basic
combinations of medicinals which were safe and effective. Many products on the
market caused allergic reactions because of preservatives, stabilizers, surfactants,
coloring agents, fragrances and even the inert fillers.
The Zincazone(r) formulation is naturally stabilized with Vitamin E. This is valuable to
the skin because it has an knitting factor which aids healing, and it has been found to
prevent scaring. It is used by many surgeons post-operatively as an agent to prevent
scar tissue from forming. Vitamin E or mixed Tocopherols is beneficial in keeping
the skin soft and pliable. The skin maintains its normal elasticity with the help of
Vitamin E. Vitamin E is extracted from natural grains and is essential for normal
cell structure. It is an anti-oxidant and may even prevent age spots as well.
Zinc aides in the absorption of Vitamin E, and zinc is an anti-oxidant as well.
Anti-oxidants prevent the oxidation of lipids. All cell walls are composed of lipids, so
it effectively prevents the cells protective coating from becoming rancid as a result of
the assault of free radicals. Zinc is a constituent of the anti-oxidant enzyme,
Superoxide dimutase (SOD). Zinc has germicidal activity and prevents bacterial growth.
Zinc may help prevent acne and regulate the activity of oil glands. Zinc is known to
heal wounds and burns and the lack of zinc is often the cause of recurrent
infections. Zinc Oxide has been used topically for its anti-bacterial activity.
It's a natural sun screen.
Zincazone (r) includes these important ingredients:
Mineral oil is a clear liquid; it is an emollient and lubricant. It softens the skin
and is a natural oil, inert in nature. It helps to keep skin moist and
"wet", preventing chaff and flaking.
Petrolatum is a clear ointment base which acts as a barrier ingredient preventing the
skin from drying. It is odorless and colorless, and it blocks aqueous solutions from
touching the skin. It is used by many dermatologists to incorporate other medicinal
ingredients in prescription compounded preparations.
Micronized Hydrocortisone is the best topical anti-inflammatory to reduce swelling,
itching, redness and irritations. It has broad therapeutic activity and promotes
very quick relief.
The unique feature of this medication is that the particle size has a direct relationship
on its ability to penetrate the skin. The quicker the penetration through the skin;
the quicker the onset of activity. Rapid absorption gives faster relief.
Skin problems are very common among people with systemic problems such as diabetes. More
than 25% of people with diabetes have experienced some kind of skin problems, including
boils, skin abscesses, severe dry skin, thickening of skin and nails, redness, itching,
and cracks or fissures.
The skin is not only the largest organ of the human body, it is the quintessential
protector against excess cold, heat, wind, sun and infections. Thus, it is prudent
for everyone, but especially diabetics, to take care of their skin.
The skin needs adequate nutrition to maintain the durability and tone necessary for
resisting injuries and it needs sufficient moisture to prevent cracking, peeling and
breaks that allow infectious agents to enter the body.
There is more zinc oxide in this product than any other product I know of on the market.
Zincazone has a smooth white consistency which makes it easy to apply and easy to adhere
to the skin. It should be rubbed in gently upon application to the affected skin
three to four times a day as needed.
It should not be used in the eyes or on broken skin. It is not recommended for
children under two years of age unless otherwise directed by a physician. It does
not require a prescription.
